Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.75%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 1.51% or 2.05 points to trade at 137.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 1.41% or 7.40 points to end at 532.30 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was up 0.70% or 1.15 points to 164.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which fell 5.91% or 3.92 points to trade at 62.42 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.80% or 3.57 points to end at 90.33 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) was down 3.46% or 0.35 points to 9.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which rose 5.38% to 59.92, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was up 2.35% to settle at 186.90 and Carmila SA (PA:CARM) which gained 1.90% to close at 11.78.
The worst performers were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 5.91% to 62.42 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 5.39% to settle at 6.00 and Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was down 5.13% to 17.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 426 to 178 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.51% or 2.05 to 137.55. Shares in Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.38% or 3.06 to 59.92. Shares in Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.35% or 4.30 to 186.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.26% or 4.60 to $1777.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.59% or 0.36 to hit $60.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.21 to trade at $64.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.2073, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8657.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 90.722.
