Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.74%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 1.85% or 1.46 points to trade at 80.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) added 1.47% or 0.48 points to end at 33.16 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 0.63% or 0.09 points to 13.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AXA SA (PA:AXAF), which fell 3.87% or 0.74 points to trade at 18.48 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 3.14% or 1.68 points to end at 51.80 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was down 2.52% or 5.80 points to 224.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which rose 4.29% to 102.10, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 2.03% to settle at 4.92 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which gained 1.85% to close at 80.20.
The worst performers were Wendel (PA:MWDP) which was down 5.67% to 83.25 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 5.14% to settle at 16.70 and Alten SA (PA:LTEN) which was down 4.92% to 70.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 349 to 208 and 104 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.63% to 26.43.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.88% or 15.70 to $1809.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.34% or 0.14 to hit $40.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.25 to trade at $43.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1289, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8989.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 96.800.
