Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.71%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 2.02% or 1.12 points to trade at 56.62 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) added 0.59% or 3.00 points to end at 510.60 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was up 0.57% or 0.75 points to 131.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which fell 3.89% or 2.58 points to trade at 63.66 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 3.92% or 0.66 points to end at 16.24 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was down 3.42% or 1.51 points to 42.83.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which rose 2.61% to 330.80, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was up 2.02% to settle at 56.62 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which gained 1.81% to close at 13.53.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 7.28% to 0.871 in late trade, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which lost 5.05% to settle at 15.22 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was down 5.02% to 29.49 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 491 to 110 and 62 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.57% or 10.60 to $1855.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.49% or 0.79 to hit $52.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.83 to trade at $55.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.2173, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 90.198.
