Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.26% or 1.50 points to trade at 47.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.05% or 2.02 points to end at 100.70 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 1.08% or 0.38 points to 35.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which fell 2.82% or 3.80 points to trade at 130.98 at the close. Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) declined 2.71% or 0.85 points to end at 30.47 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 2.38% or 0.52 points to 21.37.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which rose 3.26% to 47.50, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 2.05% to settle at 100.70 and Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which gained 1.92% to close at 8.77.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 13.81% to 2.02 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 6.68% to settle at 1.12 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 4.70% to 2.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 170 and 94 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.78% or 18.15 to $2,312.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.25 to hit $80.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $84.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 105.67.
