Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.65%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which rose 2.05% or 0.76 points to trade at 37.76 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.06% or 0.138 points to end at 13.194 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was up 0.99% or 0.25 points to 25.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 11.48% or 6.30 points to trade at 48.56 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 8.42% or 6.62 points to end at 71.96 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 5.44% or 5.18 points to 89.98.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Edenred SA (PA:EDEN) which rose 2.92% to 44.34, GTT (PA:GTT) which was up 2.44% to settle at 88.15 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) which gained 2.05% to close at 37.76.
The worst performers were Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which was down 14.02% to 50.900 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 11.48% to settle at 48.56 and Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was down 9.42% to 62.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 318 to 223 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (PA:TCFP) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.44% or 5.18 to 89.98.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 9.81% to 15.77.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 3.05 to $1495.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.76% or 0.41 to hit $53.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 0.71 to trade at $59.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8629.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 97.050.
