Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.61%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 2.33% or 0.71 points to trade at 31.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 1.75% or 1.03 points to end at 59.89 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.63% or 1.01 points to 63.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which fell 2.32% or 0.62 points to trade at 26.06 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) declined 2.29% or 0.85 points to end at 36.03 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 2.03% or 0.91 points to 43.94.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 5.68% to 7.540, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 5.58% to settle at 7.00 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which gained 4.49% to close at 23.26.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was down 3.76% to 22.52 in late trade, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which lost 3.28% to settle at 180.10 and Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which was down 3.25% to 32.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 289 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.25% or 1.08 to 32.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1758.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.75% or 1.37 to hit $79.67 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.21% or 0.99 to trade at $82.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1572, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.097.
