Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.61%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (PA:TTEF), which rose 1.97% or 0.81 points to trade at 42.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 1.63% or 0.25 points to end at 15.61 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was up 0.94% or 0.25 points to 26.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which fell 3.38% or 1.26 points to trade at 36.06 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.55% or 1.63 points to end at 62.26 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was down 2.50% or 2.92 points to 113.66.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which rose 6.45% to 6.97, Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which was up 2.69% to settle at 11.85 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 2.66% to close at 0.702.
The worst performers were Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which was down 5.65% to 75.95 in late trade, Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which lost 4.15% to settle at 157.00 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 4.11% to 436.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 358 to 252 and 83 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 7.65 to $1766.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.68% or 2.03 to hit $77.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.90% or 2.30 to trade at $81.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1622, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.810.
