Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI), which rose 3.34% or 3.18 points to trade at 98.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 1.96% or 0.38 points to end at 19.77 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was up 1.88% or 0.95 points to 51.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which fell 2.67% or 0.54 points to trade at 19.70 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) declined 2.55% or 0.71 points to end at 27.12 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was down 1.99% or 0.44 points to 21.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which rose 3.34% to 98.40, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (PA:GTT) which was up 3.28% to settle at 110.10 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 2.26% to close at 22.65.
The worst performers were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 3.59% to 22.02 in late trade, JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which lost 3.12% to settle at 19.55 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 2.74% to 7.17 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 315 to 229 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.96% or 0.38 to 19.77. Shares in Atos SE (PA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.59% or 0.82 to 22.02. Shares in Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (PA:GTT) rose to all time highs; up 3.28% or 3.50 to 110.10. Shares in JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.12% or 0.63 to 19.55.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.59% or 11.40 to $1,934.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.82% or 0.79 to hit $95.44 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 1.03 to trade at $100.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 99.80.
