Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN), which rose 1.75% or 2.15 points to trade at 125.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 1.35% or 0.47 points to end at 35.28 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was up 1.15% or 3.30 points to 291.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 7.69% or 4.66 points to trade at 55.92 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.02% or 2.79 points to end at 89.62 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was down 2.65% or 0.62 points to 22.76.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which rose 5.16% to 33.02, Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was up 4.83% to settle at 13.24 and Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which gained 4.69% to close at 67.00.
The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 7.69% to 55.92 in late trade, Carmila SA (PA:CARM) which lost 6.55% to settle at 11.42 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 5.80% to 17.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 374 to 228 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.16% or 1.62 to 33.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.14% or 2.60 to $1863.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.19% or 0.10 to hit $53.21 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $56.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.2153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 90.142.
