Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.49%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 3.86% or 1.19 points to trade at 32.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) added 1.86% or 3.30 points to end at 180.70 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was up 1.10% or 3.30 points to 304.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which fell 2.86% or 17.00 points to trade at 576.60 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) declined 2.14% or 0.48 points to end at 22.00 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 2.07% or 0.47 points to 22.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (PA:VLS) which rose 5.14% to 10.640, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was up 4.75% to settle at 30.90 and Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which gained 4.26% to close at 39.20.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 5.05% to 1.062 in late trade, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which lost 4.96% to settle at 29.10 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which was down 3.99% to 31.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 286 and 89 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 3.35 to $1738.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.28% or 0.17 to hit $61.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.25 to trade at $64.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0% to 1.1933, while EUR/GBP rose 0.00% to 0.8608.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 91.812.
