Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.49%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which rose 1.91% or 1.52 points to trade at 81.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 0.83% or 0.43 points to end at 52.43 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 0.68% or 1.70 points to 252.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which fell 2.00% or 7.25 points to trade at 355.65 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.92% or 2.30 points to end at 117.50 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 1.69% or 7.45 points to 433.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) which rose 1.91% to 81.05, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 1.69% to settle at 22.85 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which gained 1.42% to close at 24.99.
The worst performers were Iliad (PA:ILD) which was down 6.29% to 89.02 in late trade, Rothschild & Co SCA (PA:ROTH) which lost 3.83% to settle at 25.100 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.79% to 2.031 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 204 and 93 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.92% to 17.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.66% or 25.45 to $1554.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.76% or 1.52 to hit $53.58 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.80 to trade at $57.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0970, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.9072.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 98.912.
