Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.47%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 2.31% or 0.74 points to trade at 32.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 0.84% or 0.20 points to end at 24.08 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 0.81% or 0.42 points to 52.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which fell 6.50% or 1.98 points to trade at 28.49 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) declined 3.20% or 0.82 points to end at 24.77 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was down 1.96% or 0.52 points to 25.99.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which rose 4.33% to 11.81, Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was up 3.12% to settle at 38.35 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 2.73% to close at 10.93.
The worst performers were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) which was down 6.50% to 28.49 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 6.02% to settle at 8.04 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which was down 5.86% to 15.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 328 to 192 and 101 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.73% or 13.05 to $1,762.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.23% or 3.62 to hit $81.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.93% or 2.72 to trade at $90.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 106.70.
