Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.43%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.58% or 0.58 points to trade at 23.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.27% or 0.56 points to end at 25.27 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 2.13% or 0.51 points to 24.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which fell 2.24% or 2.13 points to trade at 92.87 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) declined 2.22% or 3.25 points to end at 143.30 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 2.15% or 0.83 points to 37.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which rose 4.38% to 12.15, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 3.94% to settle at 20.06 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which gained 3.12% to close at 79.30.
The worst performers were Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 2.67% to 85.55 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 2.36% to settle at 45.55 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) which was down 2.24% to 92.87 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 293 to 247 and 94 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.19% or 3.55 to $1,826.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.56% or 2.76 to hit $110.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.41% or 2.63 to trade at $111.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 103.56.
