Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.41%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 7.95% or 5.30 points to trade at 71.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 3.24% or 1.15 points to end at 36.78 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 2.42% or 1.58 points to 66.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which fell 3.60% or 46.50 points to trade at 1246.00 at the close. Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) declined 3.06% or 2.82 points to end at 89.32 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 2.51% or 16.20 points to 628.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 7.95% to 71.93, Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which was up 7.84% to settle at 35.63 and Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which gained 5.27% to close at 17.37.
The worst performers were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 4.50% to 32.03 in late trade, Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) which lost 3.60% to settle at 1246.00 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) which was down 3.06% to 89.32 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 269 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.24% or 1.15 to 36.78. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.42% or 1.58 to 66.76.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1836.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.22% or 1.09 to hit $90.75 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.69 to trade at $92.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1466, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8421.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.360.
