Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 3.37% or 0.32 points to trade at 9.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) added 2.35% or 0.61 points to end at 26.60 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was up 1.57% or 4.20 points to 272.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which fell 4.30% or 1.68 points to trade at 37.42 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 2.62% or 2.04 points to end at 75.72 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 2.46% or 14.10 points to 558.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Devoteam SA (PA:DVTM) which rose 6.60% to 106.60, Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was up 4.44% to settle at 56.50 and Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which gained 3.41% to close at 118.20.
The worst performers were ICADE (PA:ICAD) which was down 5.97% to 61.40 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 5.96% to settle at 17.84 and Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which was down 4.85% to 102.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 287 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.35% or 0.61 to 26.60. Shares in Devoteam SA (PA:DVTM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.60% or 6.60 to 106.60. Shares in Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.44% or 2.40 to 56.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.29% to 19.65.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 1.00 to $1889.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.36% or 0.66 to hit $49.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.57 to trade at $52.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.2236, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.9066.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 89.985.
