Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.35%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which rose 2.21% or 0.86 points to trade at 39.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 1.59% or 8.60 points to end at 549.50 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 1.23% or 0.54 points to 44.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which fell 2.31% or 0.41 points to trade at 17.31 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) declined 1.64% or 0.380 points to end at 22.860 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was down 1.54% or 1.30 points to 83.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which rose 3.19% to 35.93, Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was up 2.87% to settle at 3.59 and Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which gained 2.22% to close at 133.50.
The worst performers were SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 23.33% to 11.27 in late trade, Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which lost 4.75% to settle at 44.33 and Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was down 3.66% to 14.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 328 to 248 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kering SA (PA:PRTP) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.59% or 8.60 to 549.50. Shares in Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.19% or 1.11 to 35.93. Shares in SES (PA:SESFd) fell to 52-week lows; falling 23.33% or 3.43 to 11.27. Shares in Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.22% or 2.90 to 133.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.81% to 11.88.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 3.25 to $1475.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.77% or 1.58 to hit $55.56 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.23% or 1.39 to trade at $61.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8571.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.678.
