Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.33%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (PA:TCFP), which rose 1.14% or 1.14 points to trade at 101.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 0.95% or 0.36 points to end at 38.35 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was up 0.84% or 0.21 points to 25.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which fell 2.18% or 0.48 points to trade at 21.79 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) declined 2.14% or 7.80 points to end at 356.55 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was down 1.82% or 0.185 points to 9.990.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost SA (PA:NPOS) which rose 1.87% to 18.00, Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was up 1.47% to settle at 58.85 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 1.22% to close at 83.00.
The worst performers were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which was down 4.54% to 16.840 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 3.77% to settle at 1.620 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 3.13% to 2.507 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 325 to 226 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.51% to 18.28.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 8.50 to $1517.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.57% or 0.31 to hit $54.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.06 to trade at $58.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.9283.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 97.252.
