Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.31%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.62% or 1.25 points to trade at 28.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) added 3.75% or 0.63 points to end at 17.48 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 0.87% or 0.50 points to 58.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which fell 2.50% or 2.76 points to trade at 107.76 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 2.36% or 1.61 points to end at 66.50 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 1.70% or 0.19 points to 11.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which rose 6.88% to 411.50, Rexel (PA:RXL) which was up 5.41% to settle at 17.34 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 4.62% to close at 28.43.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 4.10% to 9.02 in late trade, Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which lost 3.90% to settle at 109.65 and Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 2.88% to 38.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 361 to 234 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.87% or 0.50 to 58.21. Shares in Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) rose to all time highs; up 6.88% or 26.50 to 411.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.74% or 13.35 to $1809.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.44 to hit $84.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.64 to trade at $85.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1611, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8430.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.797.
