Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which rose 4.18% or 0.99 points to trade at 24.67 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 2.32% or 0.92 points to end at 40.51 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was up 1.51% or 1.70 points to 114.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which fell 2.05% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.36 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 1.98% or 0.27 points to end at 13.28 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 1.83% or 5.10 points to 273.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which rose 4.18% to 24.67, Suez SA (PA:SEVI) which was up 4.05% to settle at 11.80 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which gained 3.24% to close at 5.07.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 3.06% to 3.73 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 2.19% to settle at 6.43 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was down 2.05% to 14.36 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 277 to 248 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) fell to all time lows; losing 3.06% or 0.12 to 3.73.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.53% to 23.92.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.60 to $1944.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.59% or 1.11 to hit $41.71 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.47% or 1.11 to trade at $43.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1773, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.9002.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 93.358.
