Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.29%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 1.70% or 0.26 points to trade at 15.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 1.45% or 1.58 points to end at 110.60 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 1.44% or 0.53 points to 37.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI), which fell 7.13% or 7.98 points to trade at 104.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.73% or 1.04 points to end at 27.00 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was down 2.71% or 2.56 points to 91.98.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which rose 7.97% to 200.40, Valneva (PA:VLS) which was up 5.11% to settle at 18.920 and Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which gained 4.36% to close at 107.80.
The worst performers were Rexel (PA:RXL) which was down 9.36% to 16.51 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which lost 7.13% to settle at 104.00 and Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was down 6.17% to 13.46 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 307 to 294 and 88 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.45 to $1783.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.51% or 2.09 to hit $81.33 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 1.93 to trade at $83.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1642, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8429.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 93.602.
