Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 2.41% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.33% or 1.08 points to end at 82.44 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.17% or 0.54 points to 46.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 1.43% or 2.00 points to trade at 137.45 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 1.11% or 1.74 points to end at 154.78 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 0.89% or 0.20 points to 22.26.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 6.87% to 5.12, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was up 2.43% to settle at 23.62 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) which gained 2.41% to close at 2.51.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 7.91% to 2.47 in late trade, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which lost 5.54% to settle at 27.30 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 3.99% to 1.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 274 to 229 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; losing 7.91% or 0.21 to 2.47.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.39% or 36.34 to $2,644.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.80% or 1.27 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.13 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 107.43.
