Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which rose 4.10% or 0.99 points to trade at 25.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 3.48% or 0.77 points to end at 22.87 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 2.97% or 1.26 points to 43.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which fell 3.49% or 6.10 points to trade at 168.65 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 2.86% or 2.33 points to end at 79.26 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 2.47% or 3.20 points to 126.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which rose 4.69% to 24.99, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) which was up 4.10% to settle at 25.14 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 3.97% to close at 89.10.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 9.77% to 8.920 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 4.86% to settle at 17.610 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) which was down 3.81% to 192.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 280 to 274 and 107 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.61% to 14.76.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.95 to $1511.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.26% or 1.28 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.19 to trade at $62.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1059, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8956.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 98.172.
