Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.23%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 2.27% or 0.51 points to trade at 22.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) added 1.77% or 2.05 points to end at 117.70 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was up 1.64% or 1.80 points to 111.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which fell 3.55% or 0.74 points to trade at 20.09 at the close. Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) declined 3.13% or 36.00 points to end at 1,113.50 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 2.55% or 1.05 points to 40.16.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which rose 4.62% to 37.10, JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which was up 3.34% to settle at 21.68 and ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which gained 3.02% to close at 11.60.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 6.48% to 37.80 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 5.70% to settle at 0.85 and Verallia (PA:VRLA) which was down 4.45% to 20.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 352 to 213 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.48% or 2.62 to 37.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.75% or 34.40 to $1,926.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 6.27% or 6.46 to hit $96.55 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 6.25% or 6.68 to trade at $100.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 99.09.
