Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which rose 3.41% or 52.50 points to trade at 1592.50 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) added 2.66% or 5.00 points to end at 193.16 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 1.91% or 0.95 points to 50.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which fell 2.57% or 2.33 points to trade at 88.27 at the close. Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) declined 2.02% or 0.65 points to end at 31.50 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was down 1.70% or 1.58 points to 91.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) which rose 3.41% to 1592.50, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) which was up 2.66% to settle at 193.16 and Valneva (PA:VLS) which gained 2.48% to close at 21.500.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 14.38% to 6.220 in late trade, Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which lost 6.15% to settle at 6.95 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 5.34% to 0.642 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 425 to 189 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 6.50 to $1863.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.54% or 0.42 to hit $77.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.45 to trade at $80.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1359, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8421.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 95.642.
