Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which rose 2.89% or 1.68 points to trade at 59.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) added 2.14% or 1.71 points to end at 81.63 and Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) was up 2.09% or 0.30 points to 14.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which fell 2.35% or 1.25 points to trade at 51.83 at the close. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 2.13% or 0.90 points to end at 41.29 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 2.00% or 0.80 points to 38.99.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which rose 4.63% to 17.85, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was up 3.84% to settle at 29.75 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which gained 3.45% to close at 10.34.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.71% to 1.206 in late trade, Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which lost 3.32% to settle at 19.80 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 3.05% to 31.780 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 292 and 79 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.56% or 9.70 to $1729.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.30% or 0.20 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.29 to trade at $68.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1929, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8583.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 91.808.
