Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 1.91% or 4.20 points to trade at 224.30 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) added 1.46% or 4.10 points to end at 285.10 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was up 1.36% or 0.90 points to 67.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 5.14% or 2.68 points to trade at 49.44 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.19% or 2.04 points to end at 61.88 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was down 2.53% or 0.36 points to 13.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which rose 6.24% to 8.68, SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which was up 4.72% to settle at 144.20 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) which gained 3.20% to close at 59.96.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 15.02% to 8.26 in late trade, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (PA:FDJ) which lost 5.34% to settle at 27.83 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 5.14% to 49.44 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 351 to 223 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) rose to all time highs; rising 1.46% or 4.10 to 285.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.04% to 30.81.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.61% or 10.85 to $1781.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.90% or 0.35 to hit $38.37 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.21 to trade at $40.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.9094.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.388.
