Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.17%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 1.91% or 5.20 points to trade at 277.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) added 0.98% or 0.43 points to end at 44.47 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was up 0.92% or 0.23 points to 25.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which fell 3.03% or 0.33 points to trade at 10.40 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 2.14% or 0.38 points to end at 17.41 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.88% or 0.33 points to 17.12.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which rose 4.83% to 19.77, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was up 4.44% to settle at 6.93 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which gained 3.37% to close at 65.09.
The worst performers were ICADE (PA:ICAD) which was down 4.35% to 64.90 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 4.21% to settle at 19.02 and Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which was down 3.20% to 6.95 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 326 to 265 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.83% or 0.91 to 19.77.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 12.65% to 20.85.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 4.95 to $1870.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $45.61 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $48.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.2113, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.9066.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 90.892.
