Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.15%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.87% or 0.70 points to trade at 25.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) added 2.76% or 0.79 points to end at 29.42 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 1.97% or 1.06 points to 54.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 1.41% or 0.84 points to trade at 58.84 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 1.40% or 1.21 points to end at 85.34 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was down 1.25% or 1.25 points to 98.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which rose 5.86% to 35.20, Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was up 5.28% to settle at 11.65 and SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which gained 4.64% to close at 151.10.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 4.02% to 11.460 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which lost 3.39% to settle at 4.65 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 3.04% to 10.84 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 269 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipsos (PA:ISOS) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.86% or 1.95 to 35.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.33% or 5.80 to $1776.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.60% or 0.37 to hit $61.80 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.38 to trade at $65.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.2069, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 90.998.
