Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which rose 9.66% or 2.18 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) added 1.53% or 4.90 points to end at 325.20 and EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) was up 1.49% or 2.04 points to 139.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which fell 2.31% or 0.77 points to trade at 32.54 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.76% or 1.23 points to end at 68.53 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was down 1.48% or 2.00 points to 133.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) which rose 9.66% to 24.75, Suez SA (PA:SEVI) which was up 7.73% to settle at 19.86 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 4.66% to close at 19.11.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 5.16% to 40.04 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which lost 4.58% to settle at 32.10 and SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which was down 4.05% to 144.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 260 and 87 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.71% or 12.35 to $1732.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.69% or 0.41 to hit $59.73 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.34 to trade at $63.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1906, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8666.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 92.155.
