Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 8.44% or 8.75 points to trade at 112.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 1.56% or 1.92 points to end at 125.18 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 1.15% or 1.60 points to 140.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which fell 3.95% or 1.87 points to trade at 45.48 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 3.49% or 0.59 points to end at 16.44 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was down 2.69% or 3.05 points to 110.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Altran Technologies SA (PA:ALTT) which rose 22.19% to 14.015, Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) which was up 8.44% to settle at 112.45 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 3.93% to close at 20.080.
The worst performers were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was down 4.54% to 21.85 in late trade, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) which lost 3.95% to settle at 45.48 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.53% to 1.587 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 351 to 215 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.95% or 1.87 to 45.48. Shares in Altran Technologies SA (PA:ALTT) rose to 52-week highs; up 22.19% or 2.545 to 14.015. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.95% or 1.87 to 45.48.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.11% to 14.14.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.49% or 7.00 to $1425.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $58.07 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.30 to trade at $64.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1355, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8950.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.790.
