Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 3.93% or 3.59 points to trade at 94.91 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.33% or 0.54 points to end at 16.90 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.94% or 0.30 points to 10.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.56% or 2.26 points to trade at 61.14 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 3.07% or 0.33 points to end at 10.40 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 1.95% or 1.02 points to 51.18.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which rose 11.31% to 5.55, Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was up 5.50% to settle at 18.04 and Imerys SA (PA:IMTP) which gained 3.94% to close at 36.90.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 4.26% to 0.881 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 3.56% to settle at 61.14 and Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 3.48% to 69.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 302 to 288 and 81 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.33% or 0.54 to 16.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 9.61% to 20.70.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 3.60 to $1833.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.22 to trade at $48.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.2161, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.9011.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 90.573.
