Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.06%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 2.98% or 1.29 points to trade at 44.63 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 1.56% or 0.56 points to end at 36.50 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was up 0.93% or 0.80 points to 87.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.60% or 2.81 points to trade at 75.32 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 2.22% or 2.50 points to end at 110.10 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 2.01% or 0.69 points to 33.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Coface (PA:COFA) which rose 3.42% to 10.58, Valneva (PA:VLS) which was up 3.18% to settle at 12.640 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which gained 2.98% to close at 44.63.
The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 3.97% to 36.00 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 3.60% to settle at 75.32 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which was down 3.50% to 26.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 271 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.56% or 0.56 to 36.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.89% or 33.40 to $1729.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.72% or 1.86 to hit $66.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 1.78 to trade at $68.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.903.
