Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.04%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.29% or 0.33 points to trade at 14.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 1.18% or 6.80 points to end at 584.80 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 0.93% or 2.00 points to 216.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.07% or 0.54 points to trade at 25.34 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 1.86% or 0.81 points to end at 42.41 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 1.25% or 0.14 points to 11.39.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which rose 4.16% to 16.54, Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was up 3.47% to settle at 49.44 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which gained 2.96% to close at 260.80.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 11.21% to 2.90 in late trade, Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) which lost 3.71% to settle at 6.11 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 2.88% to 19.07 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 320 to 228 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) rose to all time highs; rising 0.93% or 2.00 to 216.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.33% or 6.65 to $1,997.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.21% or 0.94 to hit $78.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 1.10 to trade at $82.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 101.17.
