Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Software, Technology and Banks sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.68%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR), which rose 2.32% or 0.96 points to trade at 42.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Technip (PARIS:TECF) added 1.37% or 0.65 points to end at 47.58 and Safran (PARIS:SAF) was up 0.69% or 0.35 points to 51.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cap Gemini (PARIS:CAPP), which fell 3.86% or 2.29 points to trade at 57.03 at the close. BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) declined 2.62% or 1.23 points to end at 45.80 and Accor (PARIS:ACCP) was down 2.09% or 0.77 points to 36.03.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Klepierre (PARIS:LOIM) which rose 3.49% to 36.52, Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which was up 3.19% to settle at 15.505 and Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) which gained 2.32% to close at 42.62.
The worst performers were Cap Gemini (PARIS:CAPP) which was down 3.86% to 57.03 in late trade, Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which lost 3.85% to settle at 0.600 and Ipsos (PARIS:ISOS) which was down 3.61% to 22.18 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 594 to 282 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) rose to all time highs; rising 3.19% or 0.480 to 15.505.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.79% to 26.51.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.41% or 17.00 to $1221.00 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.68% or 1.84 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 3.29% or 1.75 to trade at $51.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1948, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.7868.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 91.51.
