Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 5.01%, while the SBF 120 index gained 5.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 31.78% or 1.49 points to trade at 6.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 19.28% or 10.70 points to end at 66.20 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 18.70% or 10.05 points to 63.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 5.05% or 0.73 points to trade at 13.71 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 3.83% or 2.34 points to end at 58.74 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was down 2.68% or 2.03 points to 73.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ingenico Group SA (PA:INGC) which rose 33.21% to 90.00, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 31.78% to settle at 6.18 and Natixis (PA:CNAT) which gained 31.32% to close at 2.58.
The worst performers were SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which was down 6.41% to 113.90 in late trade, Verallia (PA:VRLA) which lost 6.00% to settle at 23.50 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which was down 5.05% to 13.71 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 436 to 162 and 57 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 6.22% to 58.79.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.39% or 5.70 to $1485.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.55% or 0.92 to hit $24.99 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.29 to trade at $28.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0667, while EUR/GBP fell 1.44% to 0.9171.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 103.105.
