Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.84%, while the SBF 120 index added 2.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 11.58% or 1.49 points to trade at 14.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange SA (PA:ORAN) added 11.25% or 1.06 points to end at 10.46 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 9.90% or 1.44 points to 15.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which fell 8.64% or 5.96 points to trade at 63.04 at the close. TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) declined 8.11% or 0.48 points to end at 5.44 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) was down 7.79% or 4.40 points to 52.08.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Iliad (PA:ILD) which rose 19.28% to 118.85, ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which was up 14.79% to settle at 7.53 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 13.59% to close at 0.988.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 58.52% to 4.10 in late trade, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which lost 17.44% to settle at 6.87 and CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which was down 15.01% to 6.93 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 269 and 61 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 7.79% or 4.40 to 52.08. Shares in DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) fell to all time lows; losing 58.52% or 5.79 to 4.10. Shares in Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) fell to all time lows; down 17.44% or 1.45 to 6.87. Shares in CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 15.01% or 1.23 to 6.93.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 26.79% to 61.19.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 3.17% or 47.15 to $1533.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.10% or 0.90 to hit $28.10 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.63% or 1.09 to trade at $28.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.73% to 1.0988, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.9083.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.66% at 99.780.
