Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.68%, while the SBF 120 index added 2.90%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 18.22% or 9.16 points to trade at 59.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) added 9.89% or 5.64 points to end at 62.64 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 9.51% or 4.67 points to 53.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which fell 4.56% or 0.22 points to trade at 4.69 at the close. Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) declined 3.96% or 2.08 points to end at 50.42 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 3.27% or 3.80 points to 112.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 39.12% to 7.29, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was up 22.09% to settle at 7.41 and Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which gained 19.12% to close at 95.00.
The worst performers were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was down 8.66% to 12.61 in late trade, Quadient SA (PA:QDT) which lost 7.79% to settle at 11.60 and Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which was down 7.27% to 17.08 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 348 to 230 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) fell to all time lows; losing 4.56% or 0.22 to 4.69. Shares in Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.96% or 2.08 to 50.42. Shares in Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.66% or 1.20 to 12.61. Shares in Quadient SA (PA:QDT) fell to all time lows; falling 7.79% or 0.98 to 11.60. Shares in Ipsos (PA:ISOS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 7.27% or 1.34 to 17.08.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.17% to 62.69.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.20% or 3.00 to $1474.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 22.76% or 4.74 to hit $25.57 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 13.87% or 3.45 to trade at $28.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 2.13% to 1.0681, while EUR/GBP fell 1.64% to 0.9242.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.78% at 103.347.
