Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.41%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 8.43% or 3.73 points to trade at 48.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (PA:TCFP) added 7.06% or 4.72 points to end at 71.60 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was up 6.67% or 1.58 points to 25.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which fell 0.53% or 0.38 points to trade at 71.18 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 0.21% or 0.30 points to end at 144.15 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 0.43% or 1.20 points to 277.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 8.43% to 48.00, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was up 7.89% to settle at 25.02 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which gained 7.57% to close at 15.92.
The worst performers were Gecina SA (PA:GFCP) which was down 1.58% to 118.10 in late trade, Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which lost 1.09% to settle at 63.35 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 0.92% to 27.03 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 401 to 154 and 101 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.77% to 22.32 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 3.84% or 77.95 to $1952.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.38% or 0.16 to hit $42.10 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.05 to trade at $45.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1770, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.442.
