Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.36%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which rose 6.21% or 5.07 points to trade at 86.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) added 5.98% or 16.10 points to end at 285.30 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was up 5.08% or 3.02 points to 62.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.29% or 0.44 points to trade at 33.63 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 0.33% or 0.04 points to end at 12.74 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was down 0.31% or 0.09 points to 29.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 7.24% to 26.06, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was up 7.08% to settle at 354.00 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 6.97% to close at 3.53.
The worst performers were Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 4.66% to 10.95 in late trade, BIC (PA:BICP) which lost 4.32% to settle at 41.66 and Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which was down 3.52% to 19.45 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 353 to 208 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) rose to all time highs; rising 5.98% or 16.10 to 285.30. Shares in Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) rose to all time highs; rising 7.08% or 23.40 to 354.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 24.84% to 22.35.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 7.05 to $1903.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.03% or 1.14 to hit $38.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.15% or 1.25 to trade at $40.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1707, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.9013.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 93.498.
