Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.15%, while the SBF 120 index added 2.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 8.51% or 4.60 points to trade at 58.64 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 7.82% or 3.23 points to end at 44.53 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was up 6.94% or 1.48 points to 22.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AXA SA (PA:AXAF), which fell 0.90% or 0.14 points to trade at 15.19 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 0.23% or 0.03 points to end at 13.18 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was up 0.34% or 2.40 points to 700.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which rose 16.15% to 13.02, Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which was up 8.72% to settle at 86.05 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which gained 8.51% to close at 58.64.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 9.68% to 29.250 in late trade, Nexity (PA:NEXI) which lost 5.43% to settle at 26.80 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 1.82% to 4.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 392 to 179 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vallourec (PA:VLLP) fell to 5-year highs; falling 9.68% or 3.134 to 29.250. Shares in Genfit (PA:GNFT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.82% or 0.09 to 4.85.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 6.12% to 29.45.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.47% or 8.10 to $1727.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.35% or 0.45 to hit $33.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.39 to trade at $35.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0894, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8939.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 99.817.
