Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.04%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which rose 7.34% or 29.60 points to trade at 432.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 5.49% or 0.83 points to end at 16.05 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 5.18% or 1.18 points to 23.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 3.44% or 1.90 points to trade at 53.30 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 1.06% or 0.10 points to end at 9.50 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 0.40% or 0.10 points to 24.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) which rose 7.34% to 432.60, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was up 5.49% to settle at 16.05 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which gained 5.18% to close at 23.86.
The worst performers were Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which was down 7.33% to 55.60 in late trade, ICADE (PA:ICAD) which lost 6.91% to settle at 45.82 and Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which was down 4.34% to 4.23 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 381 to 192 and 87 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 9.93% to 26.56.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 2.55 to $1906.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $40.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.22 to trade at $42.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1719, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.9069.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.677.
