Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.93%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 6.38% or 5.30 points to trade at 88.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 5.73% or 5.90 points to end at 108.85 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 4.19% or 3.02 points to 75.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 1.26% or 0.70 points to trade at 54.90 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.18% or 0.22 points to end at 18.18 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 0.03% or 0.02 points to 66.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which rose 6.38% to 88.41, Safran SA (PA:SAF) which was up 5.73% to settle at 108.85 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which gained 5.00% to close at 9.00.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 2.14% to 10.06 in late trade, Arkema SA (PA:AKE) which lost 1.76% to settle at 90.66 and BIC (PA:BICP) which was down 1.84% to 45.78 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 448 to 141 and 71 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.60% or 29.85 to $1834.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.84% or 1.52 to hit $55.07 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.72% or 1.53 to trade at $57.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.2026, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8827.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.210.
