Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.69% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 20.34% or 5.31 points to trade at 31.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 6.90% or 1.23 points to end at 19.00 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was up 4.35% or 1.52 points to 36.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which fell 1.95% or 0.82 points to trade at 41.22 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.75% or 1.02 points to end at 57.24 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 1.00% or 1.90 points to 188.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) which rose 20.34% to 31.41, Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which was up 14.68% to settle at 4.16 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) which gained 6.90% to close at 19.00.
The worst performers were Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was down 6.01% to 32.05 in late trade, Coface (PA:COFA) which lost 3.25% to settle at 8.92 and Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 2.22% to 72.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 429 to 197 and 57 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 4.95 to $1818.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.51% or 0.90 to hit $60.37 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 0.91 to trade at $63.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.2131, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8720.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 90.338.
