Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.55%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which rose 4.52% or 0.635 points to trade at 14.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 3.57% or 3.06 points to end at 88.68 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 2.63% or 10.20 points to 398.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.47% or 1.00 points to trade at 209.60 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.30% or 0.085 points to end at 28.675 and Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA (PA:ESSI) was down 0.18% or 0.20 points to 112.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which rose 4.52% to 14.690, Safran SA (PA:SAF) which was up 3.57% to settle at 88.68 and Natixis (PA:CNAT) which gained 3.54% to close at 6.908.
The worst performers were SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 2.96% to 12.77 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which lost 2.85% to settle at 112.50 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 1.85% to 14.030 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 421 to 179 and 95 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.92% to 10.54.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1320.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.65% or 0.40 to hit $62.03 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.16 to trade at $68.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.2069, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 91.63.
