Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.50%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 67.20% or 4.22 points to trade at 10.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 3.32% or 1.95 points to end at 60.70 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 3.01% or 11.20 points to 383.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 1.56% or 0.39 points to trade at 24.64 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) declined 1.14% or 0.31 points to end at 26.84 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was down 0.35% or 0.09 points to 24.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) which rose 67.20% to 10.50, Valneva (PA:VLS) which was up 10.41% to settle at 12.090 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which gained 8.71% to close at 8.61.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was down 3.44% to 23.05 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 2.40% to settle at 6.310 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 2.30% to 45.02 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 249 and 86 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 14.55 to $1778.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.24% or 0.17 to hit $70.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.24 to trade at $74.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1725, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8581.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.203.
