Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.48%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 6.57% or 3.82 points to trade at 61.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 5.43% or 2.49 points to end at 48.45 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 5.19% or 5.12 points to 103.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which fell 2.96% or 47.50 points to trade at 1559.00 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) declined 2.82% or 2.96 points to end at 101.96 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was down 0.60% or 1.20 points to 200.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 6.57% to 61.96, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was up 6.12% to settle at 21.15 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 5.95% to close at 3.95.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 8.81% to 21.540 in late trade, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which lost 4.88% to settle at 456.40 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) which was down 2.96% to 1559.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 370 to 233 and 95 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 2.15 to $1781.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.98% or 2.64 to hit $68.90 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.66% or 2.56 to trade at $72.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1279, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 96.325.
