Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.46%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.53%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.91% or 3.12 points to trade at 66.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (PA:STLA) added 4.08% or 0.67 points to end at 17.10 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 3.91% or 2.33 points to 61.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 0.41% or 0.23 points to trade at 55.40 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 0.26% or 0.24 points to end at 93.47 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was up 0.03% or 0.04 points to 145.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which rose 8.36% to 104.40, Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was up 6.71% to settle at 30.70 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which gained 5.17% to close at 380.30.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which was down 5.60% to 33.04 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which lost 1.37% to settle at 49.75 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 0.76% to 7.815 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 357 to 199 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) rose to 3-years highs; up 8.36% or 8.05 to 104.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.40% or 7.25 to $1835.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $89.28 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.44% or 0.40 to trade at $91.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1437, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8447.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 95.455.
