Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.43% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 7.87% or 6.20 points to trade at 85.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) added 6.51% or 1.81 points to end at 29.60 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 6.44% or 4.98 points to 82.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 2.68% or 1.72 points to trade at 62.36 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 2.62% or 3.70 points to end at 137.30 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 1.88% or 1.20 points to 62.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 16.22% to 11.43, CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which was up 8.61% to settle at 9.15 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which gained 7.97% to close at 17.81.
The worst performers were Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which was down 5.10% to 71.60 in late trade, Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which lost 4.99% to settle at 31.60 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.72% to 69.28 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 361 to 226 and 73 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 7.72% to 30.81 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.22% or 3.80 to $1720.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.47% or 0.06 to hit $12.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.56% or 0.36 to trade at $22.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0832, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 99.963.
