Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.35%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.72% or 1.14 points to trade at 25.39 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 3.72% or 1.21 points to end at 33.71 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 3.72% or 1.21 points to 33.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 1.02% or 0.55 points to trade at 53.53 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 0.73% or 0.38 points to end at 51.36 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.29% or 0.06 points to 18.71.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which rose 11.29% to 10.55, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 10.03% to settle at 4.03 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 8.11% to close at 2.53.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.17% to 13.66 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 3.54% to settle at 7.73 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 2.44% to 1.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 361 to 209 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.17% or 0.75 to 13.66. Shares in Valneva (EPA:VLS) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.54% or 0.28 to 7.73.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.42% or 7.65 to $1,821.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.48% or 1.76 to hit $117.17 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 1.08 to trade at $120.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 105.34.
