Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.34%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 3.70% or 0.78 points to trade at 21.88 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.62% or 0.426 points to end at 12.204 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 3.00% or 0.475 points to 16.285 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which fell 0.63% or 1.00 points to trade at 158.10 at the close. Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) added 0.20% or 0.25 points to end at 123.45 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 0.46% or 0.18 points to 40.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost SA (PA:NPOS) which rose 5.21% to 17.98, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 4.69% to settle at 15.180 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 4.64% to close at 1.713.
The worst performers were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was down 1.22% to 24.32 in late trade, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) which lost 0.63% to settle at 158.10 and SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 0.60% to 14.18 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 401 to 166 and 81 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 10.88% to 17.52.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 11.50 to $1512.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.75% or 0.96 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.81 to trade at $59.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1093, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.9140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.137.
